Guardian of the Forest
Taken from the overlook just before Graveyard Fields on the Blue Ridge Parkway this was the start of a magical day. I experienced fog, mist, developing clouds that were constantly on the move and a surprise from old man winter with a covering of snow just above me here on Black Balsam Knob. This bare tree already shed of his color seemed to be watching over his younger charges making sure everyone was giving their best performances for us to enjoy.
